Mike Daly

Mike Daly is a Visiting Professor at Oxford University. He is a founder and director of Snowfox and board director of Viridien, a French technology and earth-data company. On graduation from the University College of Wales, Daly spent a decade on geological mapping and mineral exploration in central Africa. He completed a PhD at Leeds University and joined BP Exploration. After 28 years and living in Venezuela, the Middle East, Scotland and London, he retired as BP’s Executive Vice President of global exploration and new business. He joined Oxford University to pursue his interests in continental tectonics and resources, leading multi-physics projects on gas in Brazil and copper in Africa. In 2023 he co-founded Snowfox. He is a Harvard Business School alumnus and past-President of the Geological Society of London.
